| 抄録 | （和） | 地域間の移動コスト（労働者の通勤・企業間取引）がある場合，労働者と企業はどのように立地・通勤場所を決めて都市が創発・維持されるのか明らかになっていない事も多い． 本研究は，企業間の取引コストと労働者の通勤コストが都市の形態を決定する小川・藤田型モデル[1]に基づき，企業の利潤および労働者の効用最大化行動にしたがって立地・通勤場所選択が内生的に決まる理論モデルを構築する．さらに，本モデルにおける均衡解の漸近安定性を解析的に検討し，都市の集積・分散パターンが生じる条件を明らかにする． 得られた結果は以下の２つである：(1)企業間の取引コストと通勤コストに応じて集積・分散の複数均衡が得られる．(2)通勤コストが低く（高く），企業間の取引コストが高い（低い）場合，企業は一地域に集積（二地域に分散）する解が漸近安定となる．この結果は，二地域が対称であっても地域間の移動コストが一地域への集積を促す「対称性の破れ」があることを示唆している． 1. | （英） | When there are interregional mobility costs (workers' commuting costs and inter-firm transaction costs), it is often unclear how workers and firms choose their locations and commuting patterns, and how cities emerge and persist. This study develops a theoretical model, based on the Ogawa-Fujita model [1] in which inter-firm transaction costs and workers' commuting costs jointly determine urban configurations, in which firms' location choices and workers' commuting patterns are endogenously determined by profit-maximizing behavior of firms and utility-maximizing behavior of workers. Furthermore, I analytically examine the asymptotic stability of equilibrium solutions in the model and identify the conditions under which urban agglomeration and dispersion patterns arise. Our main findings are twofold. (1) Depending on the levels of inter-firm transaction costs and commuting costs, multiple equilibria featuring agglomeration and dispersion emerge. (2) When commuting costs are low (high) and inter-firm transaction costs are high (low), the equilibrium in which firms agglomerate at a single location (disperse across two locations) becomes asymptotically stable. These results suggest that, even when the two regions are symmetric, interregional mobility costs act as a “symmetry-breaking” force that promotes agglomeration of firms in one region. 1.
