Reconfigurable reflectarray antennas (RRA), which enable dynamic control of the phase shifts of the Reflectarray (RA) elements, have attracted attention. However, conventional beam control based solely on the phase shifts of the RA elements has difficulty simultaneously providing sufficient beam gains to users located in diverse directions. To address this issue, this paper proposes a multibeam control scheme that controls not only the phase shifts of the RA elements but also the angle of incidence by repositioning the feed antennas. Performance evaluation demonstrates that the proposed scheme improves the average system throughput under certain link-capacity conditions. |
