In this paper, we propose a novel conformal reconfigurable intelligent surface (CRIS) whose reflection direction, operating frequency band, and physical shape can all be controlled. The reflection direction and operating frequency band can be adaptively adjusted by varying the reverse bias voltage applied to a varactor diode integrated into the unit cell. By employing a flexible printed circuit (FPC) as the substrate of the CRIS, the physical shape of the reflector can be arbitrarily modified, enabling installation in diverse environments without geometric constraints. The proposed CRIS is designed on the basis of the generalized Snell’s law. As a result, it can adaptively control both the reflected beam at the operating frequency band, even when its physical shape is altered. |
