The purpose of this study is to investigate a calibration method that can easily perform beamforming for large-scale array antennas. First, we clarified the effect of the phase error of each element on the beam characteristics by simulation. Then, we analyzed how the beam correction by calibration is affected by the number of elements and by introducing the sub-array. The results showed that as the overall number of elements increases, it becomes easier to completely correct the phase error with a single calibration. For units introducing subarrays, it was also found that the larger the number of elements in the subarray, the more difficult phase correction becomes. |
