Visual Effect of Activation Area of Area Cursor for Pointing Operation

(in English) In this paper, we evaluate the visual effect of the activation area of an area cursor for pointing operation using 6 types of area cursor. From the result of experimentations, we found that the activation area of area cursor did not affect target selection time, while users were affected by the length of gap between area and target when pointing a target. Moreover, the longer gap is, the less pointing error becomes, because the click position is closer to target.
