Effects of haptic movements on visual motion aftereffect

(in English) We investigated how haptic movements affected visual motion aftereffect after the adaptation to a visual rotation stimulus with tracking its motion by the haptic movements. The first experiment shows that there are some cases that the duration of visual motion aftereffect increases as the haptic movements are accompanied during the adaptation to the visual motion. In addition, the second experiment shows that the effects of haptic movements on visual motion aftereffect are correlated with the dynamics of manual precision in tracking visual motion. There results suggest that visual motion information is in cooperation with somatosensory information in the control of visually guided hand movements.
