| （英） | We examined the role of the visual information in executing well-learned sequential procedures. Participants were required to press twenty buttons in a correct order. In the learning stage, a set of two or four to-be-pressed buttons in the 4 x 4 button matrix were illuminated simultaneously and participants had to find out the correct order to press these buttons by trial-and-error. When they pressed correctly the next set was presented. After having completed to press twenty buttons correctly for thirty times, they went into relearning stage where no buttons were illuminated. Participants made errors initially, then they completed with long time, and finally with slightly longer time than that in the learning stage. Analyzing the time required to press individual buttons revealed that the first button in a set was pressed with a longer time comparing to the second in the learning stage, and the same pattern of time was observed for the relearning stage, although the set was not presented. We concluded that the pattern of the presentation of the buttons in the learning stage affected to the execution of the sequence of button presses in the relearning stage, through grouped structure of the sequential procedural memory. | |
