Investigation for design of interface using eye movement of diagonal direction in eye gaze system with EOG Amplified by AC coupling

(in English) We had proposed an eye-gaze input interface that combined a head mounted display (HMD) with an electro-oculograph (EOG) amplified by AC coupling. This interface is not expensive and enables the user to escape the restriction of the user's head movements. In this study, we proposed a new display design of interface using eye movement of not vertical but diagonal directions to increase the number of selected objects. For the new display design, we have to obtain an analyzing method for vertical EOG signals to calculate an accurate quantity of eye movement in vertical direction. However, vertical EOG signals have much noise. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish the correct signal caused by eye movement from the noise caused by the other factors. We also proposed a new analyzing method for EOG signals. In this method, the quantity of eye movement in vertical direction is calculated by utilizing not only the vertical EOG signal but also the horizontal EOG signal. As a result, we can develop the interface that has twice number of selected objects in our previous interface.
