(in English) We investigated if self-motion could be perceived only on the basis of sound images moving linearly on both sides of an observer. Results of Experiment 1 indicated that moving sound images could induce the perception of linear self-motion, similar to visually induced self-motion, or vection. Results of Experiment 2, indicated that there was an optimal speed at which sound images induced the greatest feeling of self-motion. Results of Experiment 3 indicated that perception of self-motion tended to be induced when the sound images were presented near and ahead of an observer.
