Meteor bursts are roughly classified into underdense and overdense bursts according to their line electron density. As for the performance evaluation of meteor burst communications (MBC), however, a simplified channel model assuming only underdense bursts is usually used. In this paper, we investigate the influence of system parameters on communication performance using a more realistic meteor burst transmission channel model that takes into account the time variation of reflected waves and peak received power distribution from overdense bursts as well as underdense bursts. |
