Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Traditional mobile communication systems have so far required fixed infrastructures such as base stations and or switching centers for the purpose of communications. However, ad-hoc network technologies are capable of making communications by composing a network each other at areas where fixed infrastructures are not provided. This is hitherto a different concept; it is therefore anticipated that new communication systems can be realized where the ad-hoc network technologies are applied to railway systems. We therefore propose some examples of ad-hoc network technologies applicable to railways. As a result of fundamental verification with simulations, the ad-hoc network technology is a promising technology in terms of maintenance work and data collection.
