Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, the robot therapy is paid attention as an effective way of the healing. From this point of view, we have been studying and developing a healing robot named PDDIN. This report proposes new functions in PDDIN to aim at both upgrading communication skills and realizing more effective healings, e.g., functions to express feelings of the robot with use of two parameters "MOOD" and "AFFECTION," to acquire external situations and also to infer interlocutor's feelings. Physical appearance of PDDIN was changed to new one. As a result, PDDIN is thereinafter called PDDIN2005. Evaluation of PDDIN2005 showed a robot PDDIN2005 could have its wider range of feelings in it, and that it expressed them recognizably for human.
