A study on optical label swapping using fiber Bragg grating based optical label equalizer

(in English) In this report, a novel optical label swapping method based on the optical label equalizer implemented by a sampled fiber Bragg grating (sampled FBG) is proposed. First of all, a discrete-time model of the optical label encoder for an optical phase code is given, then, it is shown that a sampled FBG with an infinite-length is required to equalize such the optical phase code. To obtain a realizable optical label equalizer with a finite-length, the Zero-Point Shifting process of the optical phase code is introduced and a discrete-time system function for an optical label equalizer for a Zero-Point shifted optical phase code is derived. Finally, the results of the proof-of-principle experiments, using a trial optical phase equalizer for an optical Hadamard code with the length of 4, are shown. The results clearly show that the proposed scheme for the optical label equalization and optical label swapping works fine.
