Monotonic properties of optimal maintenance policies for continuous-time Markovian deteriorating systems with imperfect repair

We consider a system whose deterioration follows a continuous time Markov chain with an absorbing state. State of the system is identified through inspection only. After each inspection, one of three actions can be taken: inspection, repair or replacement. Then the system is repaired to a better state than the present state. We derive sufficient conditions that monotonic property holds for the optimal maintenance policy minimizing a long-run average cost per unit time. Some useful properties to find the optimal maintenance policy numerically are presented. Furthermore, we compare the sufficient conditions of us and the past models. |
