FES Control Method of the Swing Phase of Hemiplegic Gait based on Cycle-to-Cycle Control -- Model Simulation Study on Stimulation Data for using Surface Electrode --

(in English) We proposed a fuzzy controller based on the cycle-to-cycle control for controlling the swing phase of hemiplegic gait by using functional electrical stimulation (FES). The controller was found to be effective in the previous computer simulation studies. However, surface electrode stimulation could not be used because a deep muscle was included for the control. In this study, the control method was modified, in which control target of the rectus femoris was changed to the hip joint angle and stimulation to the hamstrings was added at the beginning of the swing. Computer simulation showed that the control method could be applied using surface electrode.
