The Tompa hieroglyph is developed by Naxi tribe, minority group in Yunnan province of China. The value of the Tompa culture is reviewed, and not only an academic research but also the present age application is active now. This paper proposes the Japanese-Tompa translation method, and describes two systems applied the translation engine: "Direct design system with the Japanese-Tompa translation function" and "WEB-DB with Japanese-Tompa translation". By using the systems, the user who doesn't have the knowledge of the Tompa character either can use the Tompa character translated from Japanese in a correct meaning. Moreover, the learning function is built in for user to learn about the Tompa culture easily. Especially, the translated Tompa character can be cut/past on the drawing window as a design material in the design system. |
