Strategy of lung surface data acquisition for deformation estimation of the collapsed lung

To assist locating lung cancer, we develop the navigation system for thoracoscopic surgery.
The position is estimated by using non-rigid registration between preoperative shape and collapsed shape.
Since we assume that the deflation is natural, only restricted area which can be measured without deformation is used.
In order to decrease the restriction, we evaluated rigidness of mediastinal side shape.
As a result, deformation range of centrum was about 3.4mm and movement of hilum was small.
Therefore centrum shape and hilum are available to estimate. |
