A new configuration of microwave absorber using metamaterial based on the concept of autonomous control system of living sell is described. This metamaterial is composed of an active or passive circuit in a three dimensional structure which is called a unit cell. The unit cells are arranged based on the Bravais crystal lattice clarification. As an application of autonomous control metamaterial (ACMM), a new microwave absorber has been proposed. In experiment, good matching characteristics below –30dB at 5.25GHz have been obtained in normal incidence. However, in grazing incidence, the matching characteristics particularly in the TM wave deteriorate and tend to move toward the low frequency region. To resolve this problem, inductance is integrated to the unit cell. Good matching characteristics below –25dB at 3.9GHz are obtained in oblique incidence at the angle of 45 degrees. Moreover, new configuration capable of changing matching frequency characteristic is clarified to mount the PIN diode on the surface of unit cells and the direction perpendicularly to them. |
