A Consideration on UML Representation of Existing Feature Models

The FODA feature model is employed widely in product line engineering. However, due to the limitation of model representation and ambiguity, the FODA feature model has been extended by many researchers and currently gets into a mess. In this paper, we survey existing extended FODA feature models, show commonality and variability among them, and propose a UML based feature model comprehending them. This UML based feature model inherits benefits from the existing extended FODA feature models and enables to utilize UML modeling tools in product line engineering. |
