Distributed Retransmission Method Using Neighbor Nodes for Ad Hoc Networks

(in English) In ad hoc networks, each terminal transmits data using radio devices. Therefore, link failure or packet loss may occur due to interferences or obstacles. In the conventional routnig protocols, a sender terminal must reconstruct its transmission route if link failure or packet loss occurs on the route. That causes network traffic increase caused by route discovery packet. For avoiding this problem, some retransmission control methods have been proposed. However, the terminal that retansmits the packet should be located in the neighbor of destination terminal. This paper proposes a distributed retransmission control method using neighbor terminals of the route for ad hoc networks. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed method is clarified by computer simulation.
