We propose an on-board estimation algorithm for a radar offset angle between a reference direction of radar and a moving direction of mobile platform which equipped radar. The conventional offline-type offset angle estimation algorithm needs long time and many costs to calibrate physically, and cannot adapt the change of the offset angle during operations. Therefore, precise on-board-type offset angle estimation algorithm is desired. In the proposed algorithm, the offset angle is determined by the relation between observed relative speeds and directions of some reflecting objects on the field. The proposed algorithm does not require the velocity of the platform, so that it can be easily installed without modifying the hardware. Some numerical simulation results shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. |
