On IP-based Real-time communication like video communication systems, where higher quality visual communication demands are increasing as the available bandwidth becomes wider, high definition TV conference systems have begun to be used recently. In these systems, as the number of frames increase because of increased bit rate, more error robustness is required for packet loss or latency. In this report, we propose an "Intelligent QoS" control method for real-time communication systems to realize more robustness for HD real-time communication applications and show its control method and performance evaluation. By Intelligent QoS, automatic rate control (ARC), adaptive forward error correction (adaptive FEC), and automatic repeat request (ARQ) is controlled to show less than targeted packet loss recovery rate for arbitrary RTT. Several performance evaluation results of the system are shown on the emulated network environment. |
