A system to improve the compatibility between departure signals and speech announcements

(in English) Departure signals and speech announcements often occur at the same time in a busy railway station. Thus the announcements and departure signals interfere with each other. We propose a solution varying the frequency characteristics of departure signals and speech announcements without varying the energy sum of each signal or announcement. This technique was developed to reduce the amount of mutual masking and to make the announcement heard clearly without increasing its volume, thus decreasing noise pollution.
