This research aims to develop a novel sensor node for gathering disaster information. Developed sensor node equips a double-spherical mechanism for setting the direction of build-in camera uniformly. It also has a small Linux computer, with GPS adaptor, wireless LAN and so on. Therefore, the sensor node can transfer captured images with location and time information. In this paper, developed sensor node is introduced and function evaluation is experimented using prototype one. And, the paper also presents the operation mechanism that carries and releases the spherical sensor nodes. Developed mechanism is possible to set the sensor node on the ground using a device driven by solenoid actuator. The mobile robot carries proposed operation mechanism, and release control of sensor node is commanded by the robot. Performance evaluation using the prototype of proposed mechanism is described. |
