Frequency Domain Pre and Post Filtering for High Diversity Gain in Cooperative Communication

(in English) Cooperative communication which realizes space diversity has been attracting attention in recent years. In cooperative communication, a source terminal (Mobile station: MS) builds cooperative relations to another terminal. The cooperative terminal is named as Hop station (HS). HS receives signals from MS. After demodulating the received signal, the modulated symbol is detected by hard decision method. After that, HS reconstruct the transmitted signal with the demodulation of the hard decided symbols and then re-sends it to base station (BS). As a result, BS can receive the two signals transmitted thorough the different path, and thus transmission diversity is constructed. Pre-post filtering technique is also available for obtaining high frequency diversity gain. If the pre-post filtering technique is applied to the cooperative communication, it is expected that the high frequency diversity gain as well as the transmitted diversity gain are obtained but the combination method of them has not been clarified yet. We propose the two methods for applying pre-post filter to cooperative communication. The better combination method for improving the error rate performance is shown by computer simulation.
