When the thickness of the substrate is equal or thereunder with a wavelength, the Lamb wave excited efficiently. The Lamb wave reflects the substrate back side and propagates. We suggest the hydrogen gas sensor using the good point of the Lamb wave. We find the film thickness of the response film of the sensor sensitivity, Lamb wave mode dependence by theoretical analysis and an experiment. The Lamb wave delay line was fabricated on a YZ-lithium niobate (YZ-LiNbO3, substrate thickness 91 μm, both mirror faces) substrate by photo-etching methods, using almium metallization. The period of interdigital transducer was 100 μm. The sensitive membrane was deposited on the back side by RF-sputtering method. The PdAg alloy was used as a sensitive membrane. We were able to get sensitivity 5.4 ppm at hydrogen density 9.1 % by the experiment. |
