It is necessary to provide refined models to students in order to make them innovative. This paper describes an example of improvement of conventional models which are popular in education of science. This example concerns with Doppler shift --- What is redundant and what is lacked in popular figures are mentioned, comparing with the proposed model which has both spatial and temporal axis in the figure. Even when a new model is not necessary, it is desirable to show problems not only for applying/proving formulas but for finding formulas. For example, how many students can guess the background of the definition of the determinant? |
