Since 1980’s, various abnormal phenomenon have continuously been reported: university students who can not compute fractions caused a sensation about the leveling down of Japanese education, and then many high school students are reported to have become “young emperors” boldly rejecting the clear evidences of their violations of school and social regulations. Recently, in connections with “inequality society”, such behaviors of the adolescent as NEAT, shutting up indoors, parasitic dependence to parents, search for self and the like are drawing social attentions. Based on his ten years’ experience in university education on mathematics, the author deduces that common underlying feature to these phenomenon is the lack of logical causality in the cognitive process of the adolescent. We present new interpretations to these phenomena. |
