Using a voluntary movement analysis system which we have developed, the features of the ataxia of Parkinson's diasease(PD) patients and spino-cerebellar degeneration(SCD) patients can be evaluated quantitatively. In a current research,we made the swirl paths motion as a task of the system. And, suitable size and speed where target moves have been verified. In this research, the swirl paths motion was imposed on a healthy elderly group, the PD group, and the SCD group, and an effective parameter that quantitatively captured the feature of the disease was verified.Consequently, the PD group and the SCD group compared with a healthy elderly group, in the parameters suchi as "gap" and "the distance of total move" and "the tremble element" were large. Therefore, it is suggested that the feature of tremor be captured.
Moreover, because "the delay element" was large, the PD group was able to
capture the feature of the disease of bradykinesia compared with a
healthy elderly group.
Because "the difference at the speed of the target and the pen" and
"the gap of the direction of the angle" was large, the SCD group was
able to capture the feature of the diasease of hypermetria and
dysmetria compared with a healthy elderly group.
It suggests that the features of the ataxia of PD patients and SCD
patients can be evaluated quantitatively. |
