This paper treats a super-directional sound beamforming by utilizing a convergent beam-forming,
which can be performed by means of an array-speaker system implemented with an array of loudspeakers and two-dimensional (2-D) digital filter.
To form the convergent beam, the 2-D phase response is set for 2-D digital filter in addition to the amplitude.
It follows that, so that a focus located on the distance raises the degree of the convergence to establish a narrow beam, it is effective to expand a phase setup range
into the whole of the amplitude setup area in the low frequency band.
Lastly, an example applied to the wide-band design is also shown. |
