This paper describes 3D reconstruction method of straight lines such as poles and buildings in a road environment based on knowledge of common buildings from image sequence captured by a vehicle camera.
The 3D positions of the straight lines are estimated based on minimization of reprojection errors of estimated straight lines in the image sequence.
In road environment, it is too difficult to enlarge the parallax with a vehicle camera which faces to the front.
Accuracy of line positions is improved by using constraint based on the knowledge of common buildings.
In experiment on the real environment, 3D positions are estimated from detected edges in the image sequence captured by a vehicle camera by using proposed method.
We evaluate the accuracy of estimated lines by comparing the position from reference data from aerial imageries. |
