Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Fuzzy ARTMAP (FAM) is a supervised learning system based on the adaptive resonance theory (ART). If FAM learns samples with a large amount of noise, it increases categories rapidly and the performance decreases heavily. Although many slow learning methods have been devised to solve the problem, they are less suitable for the region classification tasks than FCSR which is the original learning method for FAM. This report shows that our proposed learning method can improve the learning and recognition performances of FAM, irrespective task complexity (e.g., noisy / noiseless environment). Our method is a simple learning method based on FCSR and AL which is a typical slow learning method. It reflects our original ideas in terms of the match tracking, the initial memory of a new generated node, and growth of categories.
