Upper frequency of the radiated EMI regulation VCCI for information technology equipment will be expanded to 6 GHz. If cooling air hatches are installed in equipments, shield characteristics are deteriorated by cooling air hatches. When a constant area for cooling air hatches is retained, the segmentation method of air hatches is needed to suppress the deterioration of shield characteristics. The purpose of this article is to investigate about shield effectiveness of segmented cooling air hatches. At first, we investigated the shield effectiveness of air hatches when air hatches were located in the single direction. In our measurement, the polarization of an electric field was vertical. If an air hatch in constant area was divided to N air hatches placed in a horizontal direction, the amount of deterioration of the shield effectiveness by an increase in the number was less than the amount of improvement of the shield effectiveness by a shortening of an air hatch length. On the other hand, if an air hatch in constant area was divided to N air hatches placed in a vertical direction, the shield effectiveness was confirmed to be no change. As a result, if an air hatch was divided to N×N air hatches, the shield effectiveness has been improved with an increase in the number, and the experimental equation of shield characteristics was derivated. |
