Existing works for human tracking mainly considering two areas: (1) open area having very few obstacles and/or partitions, (2) partitioned area spacially divided into regions with walls. However from the viewpoint of practical applications, we should consider semi-open area (e.g. shopping malls, convenience stores) having many partitions but not spacially divided into regions. In semi-open area, whereas sensor signals (e.g. radio) could freely fly over partitions, human could not go through them. In this paper we propose a novel method for human tracking in semi-open space. By using multiple particle filters for error detection/correction, our method allows to estimate human trajectory with precision 85.7%. |
