(in English) We have been developing a patient-specific laparoscopic surgery simulator using 3--D CT data for assisting surgical planning.In this paper, we report the outline f a laparoscope and forceps operation simulator developed as a prototype.
First, a 3--D CT image of a patient is deformed by virtually lifting the abdominal wall to generate virtual laparoscopic views.Second, a model for organ deformation is generated based on the target organ region data.Then, a user simulates forceps and laparoscope operation on the virtual laparoscopic views using devices to simulate the real forceps and laparoscope.In addition, a user can investigate adequate port positions by displaying the region reachable from a specified position of insertion.
Physicians evaluated the proposed simulation system to be very useful for the forceps and laparoscope training, especially for inexperienced physicians.
