This paper proposes a haustral fold detection method based on local intensity structure analysis for supine-prone registration of colon.
Since the tops of haustral folds have ridge structures, eigenvalues of a Hessian matrix calculated by a polynomial approximating local intensity structure show characteristic values.
We developed a ridge structure enhancement filter based on eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix.
As the result of experiment using 12 cases of abdominal CT images, sensitivity for haustral folds was 81.7\% with 6.9 FPs/case. |
