A new technique for measuring the Bragg wavelength distribution in a long length fiber Bragg grating (FBG) based on the synthesis of optical coherence function (SOCF) was reported recently, and verified that the system can measure the distribution experimentally. As well known, the length of the FBG and the band-width of the reflection spectrum are related each other. Therefore, it is expected that the spatial resolution and the band-width of the measured spectrum, which is corresponds to the sensitivity of the sensor, are related each other as well. In this paper, the relation between these parameters are studied using a theoretical simulation scheme of the measurement system. The spatial resolution and the sensitivity are found to be in trade-off relation. |
