Noise annoyance is a good measure of comfort in daily activities. A logistic prediction model was constructed in previous paper to know individual acceptable noise levels. In this paper, experiments were made to verify the model proposed. The relationships between seven points annoyance scale and LAeq, (5 min) that correspond to each word of the scale for 24 normal-hearing subjects were obtained. The correlation coefficient between the predicted values based on a pair of the experimental results and the measured values was 0.983. From the results, the model can predict the category of seven points annoyance scale for each subject from only one pair of LAeq, (5 min) and annoyance response. Then, the measured acceptable noise levels and the predicted ones were compared. The coefficient correlation between experimental results and predicted by a pair of the experimental results was 0.743. In case of using averages of the experimental results, the correlation was 0.993. It can be said that some measurements are needed to obtain individual acceptable noise level. |
