[Poster Presentation] Extended Array Mode Vector in Array Interpolation and Its Application to DOA Estimation

(in English) On the Direction-of-Arrival (DOA) estimation problem by using array elements, the estimation accuracy is deteriorated when the incident signals have strong cross-correlation. To deal with this scheme, the spatial smoothing preprocessing (SSP) has been developed to suppress signal correlativity. Unfortunately, such a method utilize the feature of array configuration by considering parallel shift of sub-array that can be available in only such a ULA. To apply SSP to the UCA which could provide estimation in all azimuth angles with identical accuracy, the array interpolation process becomes necessary. This paper proposes a novel definition of the virtual mode vector into the mapping design process. As the conventional method that mapping the UCA's mode vector into virtual linear array's, instead, the proposed technique defines a novel virtual mode vector as SSP-like form so as to refine correlated signals. And the the novel approach will be also applied to Extension Root-MUSIC.
