KNbO3 films were grown at 240 oC by hydrothermal method from KOH and Nb2O5 as source materials. 16 um-thick epitaxial KNbO3 thick films with {100}-orientation were successfully grown on (100)cSrRuO3//SrTiO3 substrates for 3 h. Clear hysteresis loops originated from the ferroelectricity were observed and a remanent polarization was 20 μC/cm2 at a maximum applied electric field of 220 kV/cm. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss were 415 and 8% at 100 kHz, then an observed piezoelectric constant d33 was 86 pm/V in which case an area of electrode was 200 μm in diameter. |
