| (in English) | Recently, object tracking with binary sensor networks has attracted the attention of many researchers and developers. A binary sensor, e.g. infrared sensor, outputs 1 bit information regarding objects’ presense or absence within its sensing range. In our research group, we have proposed object tracking methods where some sensors, which can detect movement characteristics of moving objects such as direction and velocity, are deployed at specific points in a monitoring region. In this paper, we consider compound-eye binary sensors where multiple binary sensors are closely deployed, to achieve the sensors of our proposed object tracking methods. In addition, we propose a method to detect movement characteristics of object, i.e. direction and velocity, by using the compound-eye binary sensors. Through simulation evaluations, we show fundamental characteristics of the compound-eye binary sensors. | |
