[Poster Presentation] Method For Recognizing Circular Road Signs Using Template Matching of Polar Coordinates

(in English) This study is concerned as to how the recognition of the road signs will assist driver's safety.
We proposed the recognition method by used of specific polar coordinate points.
These specific points are at various fixed positions at the template image, which are then used to perform template matching with the road sign image.
This method has advantage in recognizing road signs without resizing for hinge cause by the difference in size between the road sign and the template image size.
We first of all judge the image pixel level of each specific point on road sign using RGB color information.
From the image pixel information, the decision tree is later used to recognize the circular road signs.
