Tree Structured SOM Hardware by using hw/sw Complex

(in English) Self-Organizing Map (SOM) is a neural network to get a statistical nature of multidimensional input data by self-organizing. This paper describes an algorithm of tree-structured SOM with multiresolution analysis to classify images automatically, and also describes its hardware architecture. At first we show a classification result in the software and confirm utility of the algorithm. Second we show the architecture of two kinds of tree-structured SOM circuit and demonstrate its utility. Finally the circuit is implemented into FPGA board that we developed. As a result, we realize faster processing in comparison with software.
