User keystroke identification among small reference data by large personal data
Yoshihiro Kaneko (Gifu Univ.) CAS2009-68
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) User keystroke authentication research has been done for decades and some methods have been proposed and validated. For authentication, the latencies of two consecutive keys, termed digraph, are mostly utilized. Many methods require repeated short words such as login-name, password and so on. On the other hand, our method requires long words such as some sentences. Our study aims to establish the way to guarantee a person as his/her second signature or the way to identify him/her among people. As preliminary experiments, we have obtained samples of digraphs for 27 persons to make a reference data. We select one person from those 27 persons and have that person to record his type writings every day, totally over 36 days. In this report, using those daily large data, we investigate that we can identify that person correctly or not. As a result, the followings are shown. 1. Every digraph in test data satisfies the range of mean+3.0×standard deviation of that digraph of the reference data.2. Identification experiments show that the method based on norm is superior to that based on similar digraph number. 3. With only three digraphs, we can identify person correctly for all test data.
