Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study aims to detect the sirens of emergency vehicles (ambulance, fire engine and patrol car) in the outdoor environment and to inform drivers of its presence. Especially, we focus on improving detection performance in a highly noisy environment. Detecting method is composed of two processes; estimating the fundamental frequency of the sirens and discriminating them based on fundamental frequency estimated at 16 frames. We implemented the method in MATLAB and conducted experiments for comfirming the effectiveness of our method. Experimental results show that our method can estimate the fundamental frequency of the sirens and discriminate them accurately in noisy environment (SNR 0dB).
