The Application of Coding Theories to Linguistics -- Human Speech is Self Reproducing Automaton, which is Operated by the Digital Principle (Digital Linguistics) : In Memory of J. von Neumann --
Kimiaki Tokumaru (System Engineer) IT2010-23
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Looking for the cause of Global Environment Problems, the author visited the Klasies River Mouth Caves in South Africa, known as the oldest modern human site in the world, in order to become familiar with the origins of humans, civilization and language. The surprisingly comfortable environment of the cave convinced that the modern human could have evolved and emerged in these caves. Having compared human speech with vocal communication of Naked Mole Rats, the author was surprised with the 3 ~ 4 order difference between humans and Naked Mole Rats in code number, realized that only human among all animals uses digital code for communication, and discovered the Digital Principle operating the human speech system as an aotumaton.
