Concept which Dogs Acquire and Concept System which Dogs Construct(A New Interpretation of Conditional Reflexes Experiments by I.P. Pavlov) -- Life Logic and Boolean Operation Construct A Concept System --
Kimiaki Tokumaru (System Engineer) DE2010-14
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is generally supposed that logical thinking and concept system are human unique characteristics. Having read intensively the experimental report of conditioned reflexes by I.P. Pavlov, the author realized that Pavlov confused 'reflexes' and 'instincts'. With this understanding, the 'mutual induction' which Pavlov could not interpret at all can be interpreted as the evidence of concept system in dogs' mind. It means that logical thoughts and concepts system are function of life logic that higher animals possess in common. The only difference between humans and NHA (Non Human Animals) is then the use of digital code, with which humans take a lot of advantage for sending complex meanings and an extensive vocabulary.
