An Effect of Jitter in RFID Inventory Method using 1-Bit Flag
Yuki Nakamura, Masahiro Fujii, Yu Watanabe (Utsunomiya Univ.) CS2010-35
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we investigate a high-speed ID (IDentification) inventory method for RFID (Radio Frequency ID) system with a huge number of tags. The high-speed RFID inventory method using 1-bit flags to reserve a slot for sending ID has been proposed in order to improve the inventory time in comparison with the conventional frame slotted ALOHA scheme. This method can improve the inventory time because of reduction of unused slots by using the slots reserved in advance. However, an effect of jitter caused by gap between R/W (Reader/Writer) and the tags has never been indicated so far. In this paper, we evaluate system performances of high-speed RFID inventory method using 1-bit flags in consideration of the effect of jitter when we make use of a long-rang RFID system on UHF (Ultra High Frequency) band. Moreover, we propose a new method based on transmit phase control at the tag in order to induce a loss of flag purposely.
