Terminal Clustering and Detection Algorithm for Disaster Immediate Detection by ERUC

(in English) Recently, a lot of evacuators are killed due to sudden disasters such as fire, earthquake, and terrorism. To solve these problems, we are developing ERUC (Emergency Rescue Urgent Communications) system. This system aims to share and analyze information concerning the early stage of the disaster, and support real-time evacuation by using only the ad hoc communications among mobile terminals.
The conventional ERUC system gathered information from all of the nearby terminals and detected the disaster. However, it has two problems due to the large number of terminals that participate in the network. First, it takes time to detect a local disaster. Second, it causes the increase of data packets exchanged among mobile terminals. In this paper, we propose a new clustering method to reduce the number of packets communicated in the network and detect a local disaster more quickly. We carry out experiments on the emergency evacuation with more than 100 examinees. In addition, a new disaster recognition algorithm in the ERUC system is considered.
