(in English) The \textit{Subspace Method}~\cite{watanabe2,oja} is a classic method
of pattern recognition, and has been applied to various tasks.
The \textit{Mutual Subspace Method}~\cite{maeda1} is an extension
of the \textit{Subspace Methods}, in which \textit{canonical angles}
(\textit{principal angles}) between two subspaces are used to define
\textit{similarity} between two patterns (or two sets of patterns).
The \textit{Karhunen-Lo\`{e}ve eigenvalue method} or \textit{principal component analysis} (\textit{PCA}) is a well-known approach to form a subspace that approximates a distribution of patterns, and it was introduced as a tool of pattern recognition. The extension from the \textit{Subspace Methods} to the \textit{Mutual Subspace Method} corresponds to the difference between \textit{PCA} and \textit{canonical correlation analysis} (\textit{CCA}). I describe my own experiences and make a proposal.
